// Big Buzz Magazine Article // 2004// Back to Press Index Vicky has been DJ'ing for five years, she is a great lover of music and plays both Tough Funky House and Trance sets. She has played at top nights around the wrold including Charlys Angelz, Slinky, Peach, Pams House, Relentless, Funky Little Monkey to name but a few at top clubs such as Lunacy (Australia), El Divino (Ibiza), Eden (Australia), Emporium (Singapore), Pleasure Dome (Holland), Summum (Ibiza), Canden Palace (UK), The Coach Nightclub (Ireland) and Shuss in Italy where she holds a mid-week weekly residency. Vicky has spent four summer seasons DJing out in Ibiza with her summer residencies at Charlys Angelz and Back 2 Front for Pams House and Tonic. This summer she also Played at el Divino, Eden, Es Paradis and the terrace of Ibiza's Funkiest club Space for Alex P's Birthday! 1. What does your DJ set consist of? Well that really depends on what time and where I am playing. I play both Trance and House music. I am also introducing acapellas and samples from CDs to try and make things different and am learning to scratch - slowly!!!!!!!! 2. Have you played any glamorous cities recently? I've had a fab year for playing in glamorous locations - it started with four gigs in Sydney in January which were all wicked, and then recently I played for Slinky in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore which were both amazing. 3.Where is the best gig that gave you the best buzz? I absolutely loved the Slinky gigs not only for their glamorous locations obviously, but also because the crowd were just so totally bang up for it. but I have also had some of the best times at Charlys Angelz in Ibiza and on the tour such as at The Coach in Banbridge recently which was just awesome. 4. What was the first single that you ever bought? The very first single I bought was S Express - the theme from S-Express which i still have on 7 inch!!!! The first 12 inch I bought was The Key - The Secret way back in 92 - or maybe I shouldn't admit to that!!!! 5. What is your favourite album? I'm a huge Eminem fan and have played the Eminem show to death!!! But I love all kinds of music from ballady stuff right through to techno and don't think I could choose one overall. 6. Name 3 CD's that you are listening to at the minute? The Eminem show of course!!, Black Eyed Peas and a funky CD that was given to me in ibiza by a DJ called Marco which is just wicked! 7. Where is the worst gig you have been? I can't think of any one gig in particular thats been horrendous, but I have played a few that have been quiet. I'm sure I speak on behalf of any DJ when i say that its a bit soul destroying to play wicked tunes to an empty club - butthen I guess we've all been there! 8. What is your favorite food? I really love Italian food - steak, pasta all that kind of thing. Plus I love chocolate of course!! 9. What is your favourite drink? Alcoholic its Budweiser. 10. Are you making any New Years Resolutions? Well I gave up smoking last year and am still suceeding with that - which is a miracle in itself!!! 11. Do you enjoy coming to Ireland? Love it - have such a fantastic time whenever I'm there and like I said earlier I have great memories of our night at The Coach.... 12. Are there any tunes in your DJ box at the minute which you predict will be big? I've got a track that was sent to me on CDR by ST John called 'mind Circles', and in fact I've heard today that its being signed to a big label so i think it will be huge and deservedly so! // Back to Press Index |
