Guest Mix and Interview on BBC Radio One and 2007 update so far!

OK – basically I am just rubbish at keeping up with my news page!!! haha I have in fact been pretty rubbish at keeping up with just about everything over the past month or so!!! I’ve basically been moving house – have shifted my life from down in the South of England back up to the North where I am originally from. Its difficult enough moving house, but club that together with Christmas, New Year, several gigs, lots and lots of travelling and the usual behind the scenes stuff that goes into DJing – and, well there is my excuse for being rubbish basically!!!!!

Anyway, now I am all settled back up in my home city of Manchester I’ve finally got the chance to update you on the manicness that was December and January and also the fanastic bits and pices coming up in the next few months.

Before I talk about previous gigs, I must first of all talk about the Radio One guest mix and interview I have coming up on Eddie Halliwells show. I was obviously over the moon to be asked to do this and I will be live in the studio with Eddie on Thursday 15th February. Please do tune in, or if you can’t wait up for the midnight till 2am show then you will be able to listen again on the Radio One website for a week after the show has been broadcast. Failing that, I will be putting a copy of the show on a new page soon to be launched on this site which will include all of my other previous radio work also for Galaxy FM and Kiss FM so keep an eye out for that in my media section.

So back to all the gigs I did throughout December and January.

Starting with Christmas and I was back at BCM in Majorca for another year of madness in the Balearics. Actually, this one turned out to be fairly normal compared to the previous craziness of the past two years. Still, the club was packed, we of course got drunk in usual Christmas style, and ate our way through Christmas day not to mention doing a spot of sunbathing (yes it was sunny T-shirt weather) which was great compared to the fog we had left behind on Christmas Eve! Many thanks as always to Gordon and Oscar for having me play yet another Christmas Party, and also to Daz who cooked our Christmas dinner, Clairebear, and to the kids – Albie and Brandon who provided never ending entertainment throughout Christmas day.

On Boxing day I was back in the cold UK for a night up ion Manchester and for my debut at Arq on Deansgate locks. I joined Manchester’s John Bessant and the lovely Lil Louis for a night of house and Electro and what a wicked night it was. I’ll be back at Arq on 17th February, and if you haven’t yet made it to this bar/club in Manchester it is well worth a visit.

I was then back in India for New Year once again playing on the Smirnoff tours and back in fantastic Goa. Although I was in India for NYE 2005. it felt slightly surreal being in Goa for NYE as Goa is in a league of its own when it comes to partying!!!! The resort was absolutely rammed with tourists from every nation – even lots of Brits!!! And its was hot – and I mean HOT!!!!!!! I was booked to play two parties over the new year weekend, both at La Calypso on Baga Beach. I have to say that I overindulged slightly on the first gig on 30th – drinking lots of Vodka, going on to two afterparties, also randomlu bumping into a friend that I went to school with which meant the partying continued and didn’t actually finish until 2pm in the afternoon on New Years Eve when I thought it might be a good idea to get some sleep before I played again for the big new year party!!! Needless to say I felt a little tender when that gig eventually came about and I actually spent most of the New Years Eve rehydrating and drinking water!!! Still a great party though!!! Many thanks to Ashish and his lovely girlfriend for looking after me for my stay, to Ajit and Clement who kept me out partying on New Years Eve Eve, and to Ben Milford my friend from school.

Back in the UK, and the first weekend in January I was up in Doncaster to play at Viva La Diva – a charity event in aid of Poverty and Aids awareness. I joined Miss Behavin and the Viva La Diva residents for another night where I donned my house hat at The Priory which is a wicked little club in Doncaster town centre. Big thanks to Rik and everyone at the club for what was a really great night and also to Danny and Gemma who joined us for an afterparty involving Electronic record bags (don’t ask)!!!

Other gigs in January included two trips over to Sauze D’Oulx to play at Shuss Bar. I have been playing regularly at Shuss for 4 years now and I always love the parties in there. Thanks to H and Andrea for organising the gigs, Georgio, Danny and Kris and to Dane Bowers for MCing during my set!! More surreal than being in India at New Year!! I also went back to Stuttgart to play a gig Zapata – another wicked (and drunken) night had there also – many thanks to Steff and everyone at Zapata.

Last but by no means least – Tranzaction!!!! Now I have been wanting to play at this night for many years although I am ashamed to say that I had never actually been to a Tranzaction event. I had however heard many great things about this extremely popular night down in truro in Cornwall, and the night before I played the night was even featured on Pete Tongs “in new music we trust” show on Radio One, so I was over the moon to have a set there. I was not disappointed!!!! Despite the mission of a drive (thankyou Brett!!), this night is definitely worth going to. Fantastic crowd, great club – and they love their trance and hard dance!!! Yey!!!!! I joined Miss behaving who played funky and Electro and also Tranzaction residents Charlie G and Avaline, and I had an amazing night. Many thanks to Charie and Chris and all at Tranzaction and also to Brett, Miss behaving and to Danny and Gemma who made the epic drive down from Cleethorpes – and to Gemma also for a fabulous live PA of Never Sever (out on Tranzaction Recordings).

So, that brings me up to date pretty much. I am now off to get my tunes sorted for the Radio One guest mix and as I mentioned earlier will be at Arq on 17th Feb. I also have some dates coming up for Gatecrasher (Swindon), MTV (Estonia) and La Vita (London) throughout March so I will be back soon with info on all of these events. As for my tracks – Sliver Whispers and Eternal Dream are still in the process of being remixed, but I should have some news on both of those soon, plus I have also just finished a remix of Edge of the Ocean for Atmosphoria records so please keep an eye out for this also over the coming months.

I will definitely not leave it another two months until the next news article!!! Lol
