End of Ibiza Season 2005

Well Hello!!!

Ive just looked at my last news article and realised that yet again its been two months since I have written!!!! I am sure that anybody that has been in Ibiza for any length of time will understand why – July until September is certianly the busiest (and most drunken) time on the white isle and this season has been no different.

So here I find myself at the end of yet another season out here – my fifth to be exact………and definately my best so far.

I have to start by talking about Judgement Sunday – the closing party for which was this Sunday just gone. I really cant believe that we have already done all 15 Judgement Sunday dates out here this year and that the closing party has been and gone!!!!! I cant tell you how much I have enjoyed being the resident DJ for such an awesome event. Playing alongside the likes of Ferry Corston, Marco V, Lisa Lashes, Eddie Halliwell, Matt Hardwick and of course Jules himself each and every week has been a great experience for me and one that I will miss now that the season is coming to a close. Still, as always I have met some fantastic people out here, many off the back of doing Judgement Sunday, and this has led to some really exciting gigs and opportunities for the winter. Talks are already happening for next summer so please watch this Space as I will definately be back in Ibiza for summer 2006!

Talking of Ibiza I must of course not forget to mention Charlys Angelz – the closing party for which was also this Saturday just gone. This of course completes 5 years now for the night on the island and it shows no signs of becoming any less popular!!!! In fact the night was the busiest in Play 2 for the whole summer (except when we got thwarted by power cuts and severe storms that is) and again, we will almost definately be back in summer 2006. Many thanks to all the girls who played at the night throughout the summer, and particularly to Laura Love who did the majority of the funky sets every week.

Finally the summer would not be complete without the madness on neighbouring island Majorca where I hold a weekly residency at BCM. I mentioned in my last news article that this year my residency lead to me playing sets at other nights at the club including after Judge Jules at the Radio One weekender, and at Lashed with Lisa of course. There are already plans for a mammoth Radio One festival on the island next year and I am really looking forward to being a part of that as well as continueing the ever popular Angelz of Funk night at the club. I will of course be going back to Majorca for a string of dates throughout the winter and there are also plans for a tour of Angelz of Funk both in the UK and beyond.

So, with other highlights from the summer including my Radio One interview on Fergies show, my weekly radio show on HFM Ibiza and a pending interview with Tiesto for a new Australian TV show on Channel 7 this has indeed been a season for big things as predicted, and one which will definately be built on next year.

Before I sign off just to mention my tunes which I did of course complete before the summer began!!! I must admit that since coming over to the island I have been a little slack with following up what i had started before the summer. In the meantime however a fantastic remix has now been completed, mastered, retweaked and remastered by Andy Baggulley!! I think the man is finally happy with it now, and a mailout of both this and the original will happen within the coming weeks. in addition, having played Echoed Kisses a few times at Judgement Sunday, this went back to the studio and has also had a few alterations and is also due for a mailout in coming weeks. Watch out for news on both.

So a few weeks for chilling, spending time with all the people I havent had time to catch up with this summer and of course the remainder of the closing parties and then its homeward bound.

Will write again when I return to the good old UK!!!!!!!

Until then take care,

Vicky xx
